It all feels a bit anti-climactic the morning after, but (in this timezone) the Oscar results were lovely to wake up to: The Best Picture of last year actually winning the Best Picture Oscar for a change, the first woman to win Best Director was one whose films are usually dynamic, entertaining and worth seeing, and Christof Waltz picking up one of the most deserved (if predictable) gongs of the night.
It'll be very interesting to see what happens to Bigalow next. She'd probably sifting through offers and endless meetings as I type this, and we'll soon learn how she's going to spend the blank cheque and mountain of good will that her Oscars will generate.
